Waltham Railroad Grade
Waltham Railroad Grade Vanguard with Up/Down Wind Indicator Housed in Desired Swing Out Case
This early model Waltham Grade Vanguard Model 1908 was produced in 1910 and features a stunning configuration. The venerable Waltham Watch Co. produced some of the finest railroad grade pocket watches in America and for many years was a force to be reckoned with in the watchmaking industry. The configuration of this specimen has some desirable features of interest for collectors and it's date of manufacture places it just ahead of the major events of the twentieth century making it a historically interesting timepiece as well. To own a mechanical marvel of the early twentieth century is a real treat especially when you consider that this watch was marking time when the First World War began, it was there when America experienced an unparalleled economic boom during the 1920's, and it kept right on ticking through the great depression and the Second World War and its hands still made their rounds when we landed a man on the moon. This watch features the rare up/dn indicator, and is housed in a popular Keystone/J.B. Boss 10K gold fill, swing out case specifically designed with the preservation of the movement in mind. This Waltham Vanguard is an excellent choice if you're looking to add a swing out case timepiece to your collection, or appreciate the fine craftsmanship of Waltham pocket watches, or are looking to own a piece of history and start a family heirloom tradition.
