Waltham Dress Pocket Watch Grade Crescent St. Housed in Beautiful Gold Fill Case
The first successful watch company in America was formed in 1859 in Waltham, Massachusetts. The original name of this watch company was the American Watch Co., but by the 1900s, it became better known as the Waltham Watch Co. The historical significance of Waltham's products and the horological interest surrounding them make Waltham pocket watches an excellent entry point for beginning pocket watch collectors. The company produced a wide range of designs during its time, from railroad grade movements to fine dress pocket watches like this beautifully preserved Waltham Grade Crescent St. Model 1908, produced in 1919, shortly after the end of World War I. The roaring twenties were about to begin,. This fancy dress watch was ready and raring to hit the dance floors across America as speak easy's and jazz clubs sprung up, and America celebrated through an economic boom. The movement is housed in a J. Boss/Keystone case with brilliant yellow gold fill and features gorgeous etchings and a cartouch on the back case cover. The watch is faced with a rare triple sunk, Montgomery dial featuring an unusually positioned sub-dial in the 3 o'clock position. If you're looking for a vintage timepiece to begin or add to your collection or an exquisite dress watch to wear for formal occasions, this is the watch for you.
