The Ball Hamilton Grade 999B was first introduced in 1940 and was an innovation in timekeeping using new stronger and more flexible metal alloys in both the Hairspring and Mainspring adding to increased accuracy and durability. This Ball Hamilton Model 999B was manufactured in partnership with The Hamilton Watch Co. and Webb C. Ball who at the request of the U.S Dept. of the Interior in 1891 started to set the standard for timekeeping. This was after a disastrous train accident between two mail trains with extensive loss of life and propriety all due to a faulty timepiece. Webb C. Ball did not produce any pocket watches himself; rather he worked with the major watch companies to produce these finest of Railroad Grade Pocket Watches. This pristine Ball Hamilton is all original and is referred to as triple signed that is the dial, movement and case are all marked with the Ball Patented Railroad Model Logos making for a truly rare and collectable pocket watch. This Ball Hamilton 999B Pocket Watch is housed in a beautiful 10K Rose Gold Filled Ball patented Stirrup Bow Case. This is the most collected and desired of all Railroad Pocket Watch Cases and manufactured by the Keystone Case Company for the Ball Watch Company. The Ball Hamilton Dial is also in pristine condition and is referred to as a Ball Boxcar Single Sunk Railroad Dial with the patented Bold Ball Arabic font with the highly desired patented Ball Logo. This fine dial is made using two copper plates as a base with many layers of baked Silica on top giving the dial this deep rich porcelain glass finish. This Ball patented dial is height of functionality and shows no signs of wear. Again in just pristine condition without defects one might expect to find after years of service on the rails. This all-original Ball Hamilton 999B is a size, 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter, the most popular of size pocket watch. This finest of movement’s has 21 fine Ruby jewels, and is adjusted to 6 positions with a double roller and adjusted to heat cold. This also has a high-grade micro regulator, gold balance weights, raised and flush gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train; lever set stem wound with a steel escapement. This is extremely rare Ball Hamilton Model 999B was manufactured in 12 production runs from 1943 through 1954 with a total product at a low 126,701 produced in total. This is Ball Hamilton is one of the finest railroad pocket watches manufactured and the one most collected of all pocket watches.
