Extra Fine Antique South Bend Pocket Watch Gentlemen's Dress Model 429 Housed in the Elusive Green Gold Fill Wadsworth Case circa 1923
We are pleased to offer for your consideration this truly fine South Bend Pocket Watch Grade 429 circa 1923. The three Studebaker Brothers out of South Bend, Indiana owned the South Bend Watch Company. The South Bend Watch Co. was known for their high-grade pocket watches and as with they're fine automobiles and a large collector market developed for these fine timepieces. The Grade 429 is a very popular high-grade 19-jewel movement, the size 12 pocket watch measures 1¾ inch in diameter. The Gentlemen's Dress Pocket Watch of the Day was manufactured to the highest of standards and this South Bend is an excellent example. This South Bend 429 Movement is housed is this very popular and rare Green Gold Fill case, we have an excellent example in this Wadsworth Case Company case. This fine South Bend is faced with an Art Deco motif dress dial with a pin stripe design highlighted with the original ornate beautifully Blued Steel Open Diamond style hands. This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping. All Antique and Vintage Pocket Watches are cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy and warrantied for one year from the date of purchase.
