Folks we are please to offer for your consideration in this Ball Hamilton Pocket Watch Official Railroad Standard Grade 999P. The Ball Hamilton Railroad Pocket Watch was manufactured in partnership with The Hamilton Watch Company and Webb C. Ball who set the standard for "Railroad Timekeeping" at the request of the U.S Department of the Interior in 1893, this was after a disastrous train accident between two mail trains with extensive loss of life and propriety all due to a faulty timepiece. Webb C. Ball did not produce any pocket watches himself; rather he worked with the major watch companies of the day to produce these finest of the Railroad Grade Pocket Watches. Webb C. Ball later went on to become the Head Timekeeper for all the major railroads and maintained the railroad timekeeping from Canada trough the U.S. and into Mexico. This all original Ball Hamilton Official Standard Pocket Watch is referred to as "triple signed" with the movement, dial and case all marked "Ball Model". This is one of the highest grades and most collected of all Railroad Pocket Watches manufactured. This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for beauty and accuracy in timekeeping. All Antique and Vintage Pocket Watches are cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy and warrantied for one year warranty from the date of purchase.
