This all original Waltham has one of the most desired configurations with the 23 Jewel Movement, antique “checkerboard” damasking pattern, Waltham Railroad Dial, Keystone Case Company 14K White Gold Fill Case and highlighted with the beautifully heat-treated Blued Steel Hands. This antique Waltham Railroad Dial is bright white with heavy ink saturation. This Double Sunk Waltham Dial has the classic Arabic Railroad font numerals around the outer circumference. Then we have the recessed center chapter for the Waltham logo with another recessed sub chapter for the second hand. This Waltham Double Sunk Dial is made by soldering three Copper plates together and then baking on many layers of Silica to give the dial the depth and the deep rich porcelain finish. This dial does have a few minor craze lines yet still shoes beautifully. This fine dial is highlighted with the original heat-treated beautifully Blued Steel Spade Railroad Hands in pristine condition. This all original timepiece is housed in this stunning 14K White Gold Fill case manufactured by the Keystone Case Company. This fine case is a J. Boss Keystone Case Company case the J. Boss was designated for their finer cases. This Vanguard was used on the rails with many “watch inspectors” marks on the inside back cover of the case. This fine Waltham Pocket Watch is ready for daily wear or as a wonderful addition to any collection.
This highest grade Waltham 23 Jewel Vanguard Movement Model 1908 has the desired antique “Checkerboard” damasking pattern with the lettering highlighted in gold. The fine Vanguard has a ¾ Plate Nickel Silver movement, adjusted to 6 positions and temperature with a double roller. This fine movement also has Lossier Hairspring with a high-grade micro regulator. The Vanguard also has gold balance weights, raised and flush gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement. This fine movement is designed for accuracy and added durability. This Waltham Pocket Watch has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper as designed.
