Elgin Railroad Grade
Elgin Finest Railroad Pocket Watch Housed in Desired Display Case
The Elgin National Watch Company was America's most prolific pocket watch maker. For 100 years, their Illinois-base was the world's largest watch factory. Catering to its customers' financial circumstances, Elgin manufactured watches in many different "grades." Their motor-barreled railroad grade Veritas – "Truth" – was one of their highest and most desired movements.
This immaculate example traces its history to the company's pre-war hey-day (1903). It's one of a run of two-thousand pieces, most lost to the ravages of time.
The open face pocket watch is flawless: no scratches, dents or dings. Equally, its display case is pristine, providing an unobstructed view of the movement's precision and beauty, complete with antique damasking and branded script. The elegant bow and crown are perfectly proportioned for a gentleman or woman's size 18 pocket watch.
This 21-jewel Elgin is both a fully functional timepiece and a cherished family heirloom.
All our treasured timepieces are completely disassembled, expertly cleaned and oiled using the finest quality watch oil and gear grease, and adjusted for accuracy.
Full one year warranty.
