Rare Hamilton Grade 930 Model 1 First Year Production Housed in Yellow Gold Fill Case
This Hamilton Grade 930 Model 1 was produced in 1894, making it one of the earliest watches produced years before the Hamilton Watch Company rose to prominence as “The Railroad Timekeeper of America.” Because of the legendary legacy of the Hamilton Watch Co. these early production runs are among the most sought after by collectors.
Interestingly, because this watch was produced before the Railroad Timekeeping Standards were set, it is not considered a railroad grade timepiece. This history of the watch alone speaks to its status as what one may consider the old guard of timepieces of the 19th century.
The size 18, 16 jewel movement features a beautiful demaskeen pattern on the plate and fine precision etchings. It is housed in a wonderful Fahy’s yellow gold fill case. The case is smooth and warm to the touch. The configuration is completed with an exquisite double sunk enamel dial with Arabic numerals highlighted with blue steel hands.
Because of its origin during the first full year of production, this Hamilton Grade 930 makes a valuable addition to any collection as the foundation of the legendary legacy of one of America’s greatest watchmakers.
