Elgin Railroad Grade
Rare Elgin Railroad Grade B.W. Raymond with Up Down Wind Indicator Housed in Sterling Silver
This wonderful Elgin Grade B.W. Raymond is an exceptionally rare find with only 9,000 ever produced. Rarer still is the Up/Down wind indicator featured on this timepiece. Although records are lacking concerning how many received the indicator, it has been estimated that due to the almost prohibitive cost of this feature at the turn of the 20th century that perhaps only 1,000 or so were crafted with the Up/Down indicator. This seldom-seen timepiece, crafted in 1912, remains in excellent condition further increasing its collectibility and popular appeal. The fantastic B.W. Raymond movement is housed in an exquisite Sterling Silver case that features a rather large cartouche on the case back. Accompanying the configuration is a brilliant white Montogomery dial with dark-hued Arabic numerals highlighted with beautifully blued hands and the exceptionally rare Up/Down wind indicator. It's a perfect pocket watch for starting a family heirloom tradition, or to display in your collection, or to wear for daily use.
