This fine Waltham is a size 18 and measures 2 ¼ inches in diameter and was their top of the line offering in the day. These Hunter Case Pocket Watches are getting harder to locate and we have a wonderful example with this high grade Waltham movement housed in a beautiful Coin Silver Hunter Case. The Coin Silver (like 14/ 18K Gold) is a very soft metal and many if not most cases did not survive the last 130 years. The Hunter Case Pocket Watch was a symbol of status and prestige few could afford and still uncommon at the turn of the 20th century. This fine Waltham Pocket Watch is all original with the dial, case, hands and movement all in excellent condition.

This is an excellent example of ingenuity that made the late 19th and early 20th Century American Pocket Watch Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.

This Antique Waltham Pocket Watch has just been serviced. The service entails a complete disassembly all parts cleaned in an ultra sonic bath and then reassembled using the finest watch oil and gear grease. Then adjusted for accuracy both on a digital timer and by hand. This Antique Waltham Pocket Watch is warranted for one full year from the date of purchase.

This fine Waltham is a size 18 and measures 2 ¼ inches in diameter and was their top of the line offering in the day. These Hunter Case Pocket Watches are getting harder to locate and we have a wonderful example with this high grade Waltham movement housed in a beautiful Coin Silver Hunter Case. The Hunter Case Pocket Watch was still uncommon at the turn of the 20th century and was a symbol of status and prestige that few could afford. This top of the line Waltham would have been the Gentlemen’s Dress Pocket Watch and was commonly used on the railroads as a service pocket watch. This high grade Waltham was manufactured prior to the advent of the Railroad Grade standard at which point the Hunter Case was no longer used in service in favor of the Open Face Pocket Watch with Arabic numerals. This fine Waltham Pocket Watch is all original with the dial, case, hands and movement in excellent condition. Hopefully the images help tell the story of this truly classic 129 year old antique Waltham Pocket Watch.

This fine Waltham is housed in this stellar Coin Silver Hunter Case. These Hunter Case Pocket Watches are getting harder to locate 130 years later, so many of the cases did not hold up to the wear and tear. The Coin Silver (like 14/ 18K Gold) is a very soft metal and many if not most cases did not survive the last 130 years. This Hunter Case functions perfectly opening to a prefect 90 degree. The front opens, as it should by pressing down on the crown with the steel case springs still in excellent condition. The winding crown and lever set functions work as designed with no issues. This timepiece would make a wonderful addition to any collection or maybe for daily wear?

This Waltham Movement is a Grade #25 and Model 1883 with a production date between October 1888 and August 1889. This is referred to as a full plate lever set movement. This fine timepiece has 15 fine ruby jewels and beautifully damascening on nickel silver plates. Then we have a double roller, adjusted to 3 positions and temperature with Brequet Hairspring. The nickel silver movement is in superb condition without reckless jewelers marks or corrosion, just pristine. Waltham manufactured 63,100 of this model between 1886 through 1891. This beautiful movement has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper as designed.

The Waltham Dial is in excellent condition and is highlighted with classic Roman numerals. After the turn of the century the Roman numerals became less popular in favor of Arabic numerals. The single sunk porcelain dial has the unique Waltham logo with the desired “railroad track” design around the outer circumference. Then we have the recessed sub chapter for the second hand. These fine dials were manufactured using many layers of baked Silica giving the dials that deep rich porcelain finish. This fine dial is highlighted with the beautiful and original heat-treated blued steel Spade Hands. This fine Waltham Pocket Watch is in excellent condition, shows beautifully and sure to be appreciate for generations to come.
