Pristine Rare Appleton Tracy & Company Pocket Watch Grade 1865 Housed in this Classic Solid 18K Gold Hunter Case circa 1873
Folks we have very special offering for your consideration in this pristine Appleton Tracy & Company Pocket Watch circa 1873. We have an extremely rare Gentlemen's Dress Pocket Watch housed this classic 18K Gold Hunter Case. This fine timepiece is a rare size 10 first introduced in July of 1865 and measuring 1¾ inch in diameter. This pocket watch was meticulously maintained and we have the original wooden Presentation Box. This size 10 is very rare in that most pocket watches manufactured at this time were a size 18 or 20 and are heavy and measured 2¼ plus inches in diameter. This would have been the Gentleman's Dress Pocket Watch of the day and a symbol of status and prestige. This model A.T. & Co. was first introduced just after the end of the Civil War in July 1865. We have a very early American Pocket Watch, truly a timepiece of both Horologic and American History. We have the classic and most desired of configurations with this 18K Gold Engine Turned Hunter Case, porcelain dial with classic Roman numerals, highlighted with rare heat treated blued steel Open Morning Glory Hands. This fine grade A.T. & Co. Pocket Watch is all original and in pristine condition, stored in its original box over the last century and a half. This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping. This Antique Pocket Watch has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy and warranted for one full year from the date of purchase.
