Pristine Hamilton Pocket Watch Railroad Grade 940 Housed in a Rare Glass Back Hamilton Salesman Display Case circa 1909
We are pleased to offer for your consideration this classic Hamilton Pocket Watch Railroad Grade 940 circa 1909. This fine Hamilton is housed in the desired Salesman Display Case with a glass back to display the extra fine movement. These Hamilton Display Cases were used at the turn of the century and not sold to the public; the jeweler or jobber of the day as they were referred would use them for displaying these fine movements for sale, without getting dirt or debris in the movement. These clear back display cases are a favorite with Pocket Watch Collectors and this is an excellent example with the old Hamilton Script on the top of each bezel. We have a classic configuration with the antique Hamilton Grade 940 21 Jewel Movement, Double Sunk Hamilton Dial housed in the Salesman Display Case all in pristine condition. I hope the many pictures and extreme magnification help in the description of this truly collectable Hamilton Pocket Watch. This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping. All Antique and Vintage Pocket Watches are cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy and warranted for 1 full year from date of purchase.
