The high grade 479 Movement is stem wound and stem set and a size 12 measuring 1¾ inch in diameter. This pristine Elgin Dress Dial is truly stunning with a gold on porcelain finish. The dial is an off white or beige porcelain with the hand painted raised gold Elgin Logo, gold Arabic Numerals each minute marker around the circumference is also highlighted in gold. Then we also have the ornate second hand treatment highlighted in gold. This fine dial is highlighted with the classic and original ornate Gold Filled Open Diamond Hands. This Elgin Dress Pocket Watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.
The fine Elgin Grade 479 Movement has 17 jewels and is stem set and stem wound. The fine movement has the wide Tuxedo Stripe damasking on the nickel silver plate movement. The 479 Movement also has a gold center wheel, flush gold jewel settings and is adjusted to 3 positions. We also have a steel escapement, micro regulator and gold balance weights, all for added accuracy. This fine Elgin Dress Pocket Watch has just been serviced and is ready for daily wear or as a fine addition to any collection.
The Elgin 479 Movement is housed in a custom Keystone J Boss Watch Case Company case. Keystone was known for manufacturing the finest of pocket watch cases and the finer cases had the “J Boss” designation. This 14K Yellow Gold Fill Case is in excellent condition and matches the dial and hands beautifully. This fine case is in pristine condition without dings, dents or scratches.
