This is one of the highest-grade pocket watches manufactured by the Hamilton Watch Company or any other watch manufacture of the day. This Ball Hamilton Model 999P was manufactured in partnership with Webb C. Ball who at the request of the U.S Department of the Interior set the standard for railroad timekeeping in 1894, this was after a disastrous accident between two mail trains with extensive loss of life and propriety all due to a faulty timepiece. This is truly a collector's pocket watch, it is referred to as triple signed, that is the dial, movement and case are each marked patented Ball Model.
