Ball who at the request of the U.S Department of the Interior set the standard for railroad timekeeping in 1894, this was after a disastrous accident between two mail trains with extensive loss of life and propriety all due to a faulty timepiece. Webb C. Ball did not produce pocket watches himself; rather he worked with the major watch companies to produce these finest of Railroad Grade Pocket Watches.
