This Hamilton Grade 992 is faced with a flawless Double Sunk Hamilton “Boxcar” Railroad Dial. The “Boxcar” Railroad Dial is the height of functionality with the bold Arabic font Numerals. This fine dial is made using 3 copper plates soldered together then baked with many layers of silica giving the dial that deep rich porcelain glass finish. The Hamilton Double Sunk Dial has the recessed center chapter for the Hamilton logo, then we have the raised outer chapter for the Hamilton stylized Arabic block font numerals. The dial also has a recessed sub chapter for the second hand. Truly the classic Hamilton Railroad Dial both beautiful and the height of functionality. This pristine dial is again without flaws and is highlighted with the original beautiful Blued Steel Spade / Whip Railroad Hands. This high grade Hamilton Grade 992 Movement is one of the most collected of all Railroad Pocket Watches. This Hamilton 992 Movement is lever set and stem wound with 21 fine Ruby Jewels and adjusted to 5 positions. The 992 is a size 16 and measures two inches in diameter, the most popular of sizes. The total number of the Grade 992 produced was only 545,000 over 28 years from 1903 through 1930. This high-grade 992 Movement has the classic gold lettering and narrow pin stripe damasked nickel plate movement. This 992 is in pristine condition without reckless jewelers tool marks or corrosion. The movement is also adjusted to heat and cold with a high-grade regulator, gold balance weights, raised gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement. This fine Hamilton Pocket Watch has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper.

The Hamilton Grade 992 is of the finest Railroad Pocket Watches manufactured. This fine 992 is housed in this classic Rose Gold Fill Case. The case is manufactured by the Fahys Case Company and is in excellent condition. Both bezels thread smoothly as designed. A new old stock beveled glass crystal has just been installed. The case shows less than minor ware with only a few minor indentations on the case back, nothing major for an 89-year timepiece, but I have to mention. Truly the classic Railroad Grade Pocket Watch.

This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
