The Hamilton 992 is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter, the most popular of sizes. This fine Hamilton Pocket Watch has one of most desired configurations with the pristine Model 1 Grade 992 Movement, Hamilton Railroad Dial, Blued Steel Spade / Whip Hands and this classic Wadsworth Yellow GF Railroad Case. This Hamilton 992 is again faced with a flawless Double Sunk Hamilton Railroad Dial; this is a rare and desired railroad dial with the Hamilton style Arabic font numerals. This Hamilton double sunk dial has the recessed center chapter for the Hamilton logo, and then we have the raised outer chapter for the Hamilton style Arabic font numerals. The raised around outer circumference each 5-minute maker is highlighted in red Arabic numerals, then we have a recessed sub chapter for the second hand. Truly the classic Hamilton Railroad Dial both beautiful and the height of functionality. This dial is actually made using 3 pieces of metal soldiered together then baked with many layers of silica giving the dial that rich porcelain glass finish. This pristine dial is again without flaws and has the original beautiful Blued Steel Spade / Whip Railroad Hands also in excellent condition. This Hamilton Pocket Watch was used on the rails, the inside back case cover does have the “Railroad Timekeeper” markings. The Wadsworth Case Company was know for the finest in Railroad Grade Cases and this is an excellent example. This fine Hamilton Pocket Watch shows beautifully and will be appreciated for generations to come. This high grade Hamilton Grade 992 Movement is one of the most collected of all Railroad Pocket Watches. The total number of the Grade 992 produced was only 545,000 over 28 years from 1903 through 1930.

This 992 Movement is in pristine condition without reckless jewelers tool marks or corrosion. This Hamilton 992 Movement is lever set and stem wound with 21 fine Ruby Jewels and adjusted to 5 positions. The movement is also adjusted to heat and cold with a high-grade regulator, gold balance weights, raised gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement. One of the finest Railroad Pocket Watches manufactured and earned the Hamilton Watch Company the title as the ”Railroad Time Keeper of America”.

This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
