Folks we have another wonderful offing for your consideration; this antique Hamilton Railroad Grade 940 Pocket Watch. This is the first in the lineage of the finest of Railroad Grade Pocket Watches. This pristine Hamilton 940 Movement has 21 jewels, motor barrel, double roller and is lever set all designed for extreme accuracy. The Hamilton Model 940 is a size 18 and measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter. This is a desired low 6-figure serial number on this early 940; they were still not engraving the Grade 940 on the movements only the name and jewel count. This is the pocket watch that earned the Hamilton Watch Company the reputation as "The Railroad Timekeeper of America". This was truly the scientific instrument of the day in 1907. This is an excellent example of the ingenuity the late 18th and early 19th century American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
