Lord Elgin The Dress Pocket Watch Housed in this Stunning 14K White Gold Case
This exceptional Lord Elgin gentleman's pocket watch was the perfect expression of luxury and prestige during the roaring 20s. The watch is housed in a stunning 14K white gold case putting it in the rare class of less than 5% pocket watches ever made featuring 14 or 18K cases. Over time the number of watches with 14 or 18k cases has continued to dwindle because many have been damaged or melted down for scrap. We can truly appreciate the efforts that went into preserving this precious gold timepiece. Its low production further enhances the rarity of this watch; only 14,000 were produced between 1918 and 1926. It features a high-grade 451 movement, often referred to as a ¾ plate movement with eight adjustments including temperature. It is a size 12 measuring 1 ¾" and was designed to capture the growing attention and popularity of smaller pocket watches during the 1920s era. It features a sleek art deco motif and a stunning dress dial with gold Arabic numerals and embellishments. The dial is highlighted with a custom gold triangle handset. To this day Lord Elgin stands as a testament to the prosperity and excitement of the roaring 20s.
