This Longines Cal.19.73 pin set chronograph was manufactured between 1910-1915 by the oldest registered watch brand in the world, the renowned Longines company. Founded in 1832 by Auguste Agassiz, Longines has a rich history as a world-renowned Swiss watchmaker, and are noted for their luxurious, high-grade timepieces. The chronograph was invented in 1816 by Louis Moinet to track astronomical objects. From the mid to late 1800s, the chronograph saw heavy use by artillery units the world over. Into the 20th century, the chronograph was used in piloting aircraft, auto racing, diving, and submarine operations. The 17 jewel, size 16, pin set movement of this Longines Cal.19.73 is housed in its original gunmetal case enriched with a warm patina that tells the rich history of this lovely timepiece.
