This fine Elgin Dial is referred to as single sunk and is in excellent condition with no issues, a rare find. The single sunk dial is made of many layers of baked silica on two metal plates for that deep rich glass finish. We have the raised portion for the antique Elgin font logo and the beautiful Roman numerals with the classic railroad track design around the outer circumference. Then we have a sunken sub register for the second hand. This fine Elgin dial is highlighted with the original blue steel Spade/Spade Hands all in excellent condition and shows beautifully.

This Elgin Movement is a High Grade #133 Movement and referred to as a three quarter plate movement. This movement stem set and stem wound. This fine Elgin movement has 15 fine ruby jewels and a beautifully damasked nickel silver plates movement with gold center wheel and micro regulator. The nickel silver movement is in superb condition without reckless jewelers marks or corrosion, just a pristine pocket watch. Elgin manufactured only 38,000 of this popular model between 1896 and 1905 in only 30 production runs. This fine Elgin Grade #133 Movement is housed in an extra fine Hunter Case made by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company. The 14K yellow gold fill case is beautifully engraved; the case does have a “B” engraved on the back cover. This Hunter Case functions perfectly, the pocket watch opens with a push down on the crown. The beautiful movement has just been cleaned, oiled and adjusted and is an excellent timekeeper to this day!

This is an excellent example of ingenuity that made the late 18th and early 19th Century American pocket watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
