This astoundingly beautiful pocket watch came to us as a bit of mystery. We loved its substantial size (18), its magnificent 18k gently glowing gold case, its stately, blemish free dial and its extraordinarily precise and detailed movement. But we knew nothing of its origin. With the help of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, we managed to track down its history. This pocket watch was produced by the International Watch Company of Schaffhausen Switzerland – a company established by a U.S.-born entrepreneur to combine American technology with Swiss craftsmanship. Although precise records no longer exist, the low serial number leads us to believe it was part of the first production run of 7000 pocket watches, which began in 1875. This immaculate pocket watch is where today's IWC got its start. As such, this is a rare opportunity to own a piece of horological history, in a stunning and fully functional timepiece. All our treasured timepieces are completely disassembled, expertly cleaned and oiled using the finest quality watch oil and gear grease, and adjusted for accuracy. Full one year warranty.
