Illinois Grade 127 Gentleman’s Dress Pocket Watch of the Day
In 1927, Charles Lindberg made the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight in the Spirit of St. Louis. That same year, the Illinois Watch Company produced this Illinois Grade 127, size 12, gentleman's dress pocket watch, another example of American prestige, ingenuity, and style.
This Illinois remains as it was: an accurate and dependable timepiece. The wonderfully patina'd dial, fancy indices, and custom-blued hands (prized by collectors) was crafted in the bold Art Deco style of the day.
Thanks to a 17-jewel Grade 127 Model 3 movement, this Illinois remains as it was: an accurate, dependable timepiece. Its engine boasts a double roller escapement, sapphire pallets and jewel pins, a gold bevel and polished center wheel, a micrometrical screw regulator, and polished winding wheels.
The Art Deco Sangamo steel case compliments the watch perfectly. If you're looking for a perfect piece of horological history that wears its age with dignity and pride, look no further.
