The E. Howard Watch Company has a rich history stretching back to 1858. The business, like so many of the era, encountered turbulence over the decades as its fortunes rose and fell. The company arose a final time from 1902 to 1930, during that time the E. Howard Watch Company produced run after run of high-quality pocket watches that today enjoy a large following among collectors.  This Howard Grade Series 7 Model 1912 is a fine example from the heyday of the E. Howard Watch Company. It is a size 12 (1 ¾" or 44mm). The size of this watch, produced in the 1913 production runs, is a classic example of the trend toward smaller watches. The 17 jewel movement of this watch is adjusted to three positions in an open face configuration. The movement is presented in an elegant rose gold fill case. The dial features the Howard logo and richly inked Arabic numerals in a bold font. Plus, this watch comes complete with its original box! The early twentieth century was a time of fierce competition between American and Swiss watchmakers. This Howard Grade Series 7 remains a testament to the epic struggle between the "titans of time" and a must-have for the serious collector of both American and Swiss-made watches.
