Hamilton Railroad Grade
Hamilton Railway Special 992B with Heavy Gothic Dial and Housed in this Stainless Steel Case
Hamilton's rich heritage as the go-to watch for unparalleled accuracy reached a new high in 1903 with their introduction of the Hamilton Grade 992. The 992 enjoyed a legendary legacy, and this Hamilton Grade 992B model 5, produced in 1951, represents the final iteration of the iconic Hamilton Grade 992 series. This Hamilton Grade 992B is presented in one of its most popular configurations, featuring a heavy Gothic dial and black spade/whip hands in a Hamilton stainless steel model #15 case. This watch was the workhorse timepiece of the American railway system. The model #15 case is historically and horologically significant, for it is the only stainless steel case Hamilton factory cased and timed. It was a case intended for the hard knocks of the rails, a working man's pocket watch. This timepiece is in excellent condition. Its brilliant white dial, highlighted with a heavy inked bold font coupled with the model #15 case, gives this pocket watch a stunning appearance. This marvel of American engineering shows beautifully and makes an outstanding addition to your collection or as a valued family heirloom for generations to come.
