Hamilton Railroad Grade
Hamilton Railway Special 992 with Gothic Dial Housed in the White GF Model #7 Case
This Hamilton Railway Special Grade 992 Model 2, produced in 1931, features the venerable 992 movement, housed in a popular yet uncommon white gold fill Model #7 case, first seen in May of 1930. This was a railroad-grade watch in every sense. The Model #7 case was designed for the rugged challenges of life on the rails without sacrificing its stunning appearance. It boasted a raised shoulders and a larger frame to withstand impacts better, thereby increasing the watch's durability. This watch is in excellent condition with a flawless case, dial, and hands. The brilliant white dial features a Gothic font in bold ink, highlighted with gorgeous blued hands. Inside and out, this watch is in pristine condition, unchanged from the moment it rolled off the production line ninety years ago. The condition of this watch today is testimony to the pride of ownership, the effort, and the care taken to preserve this watch through the tumults of the early twentieth century into the dawn of the 21st century and beyond. This fine timepiece would make a fine cornerstone for any vintage watch collection or as the perfect pocket watch for daily carry or to display on your office desk, dresser, or mantle as a conversation piece.
