Folks we are pleased to offer for your consideration this Hamilton Pocket Watch circa 1905. The Gentlemen’s Dress Pocket Watch of the day manufactured to the highest of standards. We have an excellent example with this wonderful configuration: Hamilton Grade 974 lever set movement, porcelain dial , ornate Blued Steel hands and housed in this stunning Green Gold Fill Case. The Gentlemen’s Dress Pocket Watch was a symbol of prestige and status only a few could afford. The Hamilton size 16 Dress Pocket Watch measures 2 inches in diameter, the most popular size pocket watch. The lever set Grade 974 Movement had a total production of only 114,784 over 17 years between 1897 through 1914.  A very popular movement with relatively low production numbers. I hope the pictures and extreme magnification helps tell the story of this truly fine Hamilton Dress Pocket Watch.

This 974 is faced with the original and desired bright white porcelain Hamilton dial. This fine dial has the older and desired font with Hamilton Watch Co. spelled out. They later shortened it to just Hamilton in the script font, later when to a simple block font. Then we have the stylized Arabic numerals with each 5 minute marker highlighted in red. Then we have a recessed sub chapter for the second hand. This fine dial is highlighted with the classic and original ornate Blued Steel Spade Railroad style hands. The Grade 974 movement is housed in this custom 14 Karat Green Gold Fill case. This Spector case is in excellent condition and beautifully engraved.  This 115 year old Hamilton pocket watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.

This fine Hamilton Grade 974 Movement has 17 jewels and is lever set and stem wound. The fine movement has the ornate antique damasking and is in excellent condition without corrosion or reckless jewelers tool marks. The 974 Movement has a gold center wheel with gold jewel settings and is adjusted to 3 positions. We also have a steel escapement and a micro regulator with gold balance weights all designed for added accuracy. This Hamilton Grade 974 Pocket Watch has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper.

This is another excellent example of the late 19th and early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American pocket watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.

This  antique Hamilton pocket watch has just been cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy. This fine Hamilton is also warranted for one full year from the date of purchase.
