The Hamilton Model 15 Case was first seen advertised by Hamilton in 1950 and is the strongest of Hamilton’s classic railroad pocket watch cases. The Hamilton Railway Special Pocket Watch Grade 992B was also first introduced in 1940 and was the pinnacle and the last of the great Hamilton Railroad Models introduced. First produced in 1940 and was the last off the production line in 1969 with a total production of 685,300 over 29 years in 31 production runs. This Hamilton 992B is faced with this extra fine and highly desired Hamilton Railway Special Dial; this is the classic railroad dial with the Hamilton Boxcar Arabic font numerals around the raised outer circumference. Then this classic Hamilton dial has the recessed center portion for the highly desired Hamilton Railway Special logo. Then we have a recessed sub-chapter for the second hand. This Hamilton Railway Special Dials is one of the most popular and collected of all railroad dials, both beautiful and the height of functionality. This dial is an exception example of the Railway Special Dial; the ink is heavily saturated giving this dial a very rich appearance. These fine dials are made using many layers of baked Silica give the dial a deep rich glass or porcelain appearance. This fine dial has the most minor of crazing near the sub register, nothing major but I have to mention. This fine dial is highlighted with the original beautiful Black Steel Spade/Whip Railroad Hands in excellent condition. The Hamilton Railway Special Pocket Watch 992B is one of the most popular and collected of all Railroad Pocket Watches manufactured. This is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter the most popular of size pocket watches. The Hamilton Grade 992B is lever set and stem wound movement with 21 fine Ruby Jewels. This fine movement is also adjusted to 6 positions and adjusted to heat and cold with flush gold jewel settings and a double roller. This highest of grade pocket watches also has a high-grade micro regulator, gold balance weights, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement all designed for an incredibly accurate timepiece.
