Folks we have a wonderful offering for your consideration in this Hamilton 992E circa 1930, one of the most collected of Railroad Pocket Watches. The E designation of the 992E is for the Elinvar Hairspring a newly developed alloy for added strength and durability. The 992E replaced the 992 and was first introduced in 1930. This case back is engraved with ORC-350 for the Order of Railway Conductors out of the Ohio Central Railroad. We have a wonderful original configuration with the 992E Movement, desired old English font dial, Wadsworth 10K GF Bar Over Crown Model 8 Case and highlighted with the original blued Steel Spade Whip Railroad Hands. 

This is an excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American pocket watch a worldwide standard for beauty and accuracy in timekeeping.

This  Hamilton Pocket Watch has just been cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy. This entails a complete disassembly, all parts cleaned in an ultrasonic bath, and reassembled using the finest watch oil and gear grease.

Folks we have a wonderful offering for your consideration in this Hamilton 992E circa 1930, one of the most collected of Railroad Pocket Watches. The E designation of the 992E is for the Elinvar Hairspring a newly developed alloy for added strength and durability. The 992E replaced the 992 and was first introduced in 1930. This Hamilton is a first production run circa 1930 adding to its collectability. The total production of the 992E was only 63,300 in 9 production runs from 1930 through 1940. The limited production 992E adds to the collectability of this high grade Hamilton Pocket Watch. This case back is engraved with ORC-350 for the Order of Railway Conductors out of the Ohio Central Railroad. We have a wonderful original configuration with the 992E Movement, desired old English font dial, Wadsworth 10K GF Bar Over Crown Model 8 Case and highlighted with the original blued Steel Spade Whip Railroad Hands. This Hamilton Grade 992E is faced with the popular double sunk Old English font dial sometimes referred to as the Blind Man’s dial. This railroad dial was designed for both beauty and functionality. This finest of dials was manufactured using 3 copper plates soldered together then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial that deep rich Porcelain finish. The Hamilton Double Sunk Dial has the recessed center chapter with the Hamilton logo in the later block font. Then we have the raised outer chapter for the Hamilton stylized Old English Arabic font numerals. Also on the raised around outer circumference we have each 5 minute maker highlighted in red. Then we have a recessed sub-chapter for the second hand. Truly the classic Hamilton Railroad Dial both beautiful and the height of functionality. This fine dial is highlighted with the original beautifully blued Steel Spade Whip Railroad Hands. This fine Hamilton Pocket Watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.

This Hamilton Grade 992E Movement is manufactured with the first Elinvar Alloy Hairspring. This new metal alloy was a major development in adding strength and durability to what was already the most popular service pocket watch offered for sale. The Grade 992E has the wider pinstripe damasking pattern highlighted with gold lettering. This Grade 992E was again manufactured to the highest of standards and we have an excellent example for your consideration. This Hamilton 992E Movement is lever set and stem wound with 21 fine Ruby Jewels and adjusted to 5 positions. The movement is also adjusted to heat and cold and with a high-grade micrometer regulator. The movement also has gold balance weights with flush screw gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement all designed for exceptional accuracy and dependability. This finest of pocket watches has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper as designed.
