Hamilton Pocket Watch Railroad Grade 992E Housed in Popular Salesman Display Case
This immaculate circa 1935 Hamilton 992E pocket watch presented for your consideration is one of the classic pocket watches of the early twentieth century. And for good reason. Its immaculate dial has a deep, rich enamel – made from three copper plates soldered together and baked with multiple layers of silica. Its highly stylized Arabic numerals are bold enough to conform to the railroad industry's legibility rules, yet elegantly playful. This pristine Hamilton keeps track of the time with beautifully blued steel "spade whip" railroad hands, motivated by the highly evolved 992E movement (E indicates the pocket watch's innovative and robust Elinvar hairspring). The movement's decoration – wide pinstripe damasking highlighted with gold lettering – embodies the sophisticated swagger of its time. The finished timepiece is contained with an equally expressive Art Deco Wadsworth 10K GF Bar Over Crown Case. The result is a timelessly stylish addition to your cherished collection.
