Hamilton Pocket Watch Railroad Grade 992 Housed in this Stunning White GF Case circa 1904
Folks we have a wonderful offering for your consideration in this antique Hamilton Railroad Grade 992 Pocket Watch circa 1904. The Hamilton 992 was one of the most popular railroad pocket watches manufactured, if not the most popular. This is a second year production run, first year production was only 700 pieces. This pristine Hamilton 992 Movement has 21 jewels, motor barrel, double roller and is lever set all designed for extreme accuracy. This Grade 992 has the beautiful ornate antique damasking on the nickel silver plates and is highlighted with gold lettering. After 1917 they went to a plan pinstripe damasking pattern, making these older handcrafted movements more desirable. The Hamilton Model 992 is a size 16 and measures 2 inches in diameter, the most popular size pocket watch. This 992 has an early and desired low 6-figure serial number, they had not yet started engraving the grade 992 on the movements, only the jewel count. This was truly the scientific instrument of the day in 1904, on par with the smartphone of today. This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for beauty and accuracy in timekeeping. This Antique Hamilton Pocket Watch has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy. This entails a complete disassembly with all parts cleaned and reassembled using the finest watch oil and gear grease. This Antique Hamilton Pocket Watch is warrantied for one full year from the date of purchase.
