Hamilton Pocket Watch Railroad Grade 992 Housed in Popular Salesman Display Case
People ask me, what was your first pocket watch? Here it is, the watch that won my heart: the Hamilton 992. But not just any 992. An early example like this. First of all, it's pristine. The dial, case and movement are all as beautiful, reliable and accurate as the day the pocket watch left Lancaster. Then there's the "Montgomery dial" with its 60 indices outer track. Created by Henry S. Montgomery, the General Watch and Clock Inspector for the Santa Fe Railway, this 992 displays the dial in its original form (with the 6 inside the sub seconds). Produced in 1913, the 992's movement shows all the care and attention put into early 992's, before cost-cutting. Notice the lettering highlighted in gold and elaborate damascening pattern. This is Hamilton at its best. It's a perfect collection foundation, cherished addition or practical daily carry timepiece. All our treasured timepieces are completely disassembled, expertly cleaned and oiled using the finest quality watch oil and gear grease, and adjusted for accuracy. Full one year warranty.
