The Hamilton Grade 992 is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter, the most popular of size pocket watch. This is the classic antique Lever Set Railroad Pocket Watch and truly the scientific instrument of the day. The total production for this Grade 992 Model 2 was 447,200 over 18 years from 1913 through 1931. The total Grade 992 produced was 610,000 from 1903 through 1940 making for the most popular railroad pocket watch built. We have a wonderful configuration with this Hamilton Grade 992 Movement, beautiful Silver Tone Keystone Case Company Case and faced with the popular Hamilton Double Sunk Montgomery Dial. This Hamilton Grade 992 is faced with the popular Montgomery Dial first introduced in 1903. This is the classic Railroad Dial and the height of functionality with every minute marker counted out in Arabic Numerals around the outer circumference. This Double Sunk Montgomery Railroad Dial was the top of the line dial Hamilton offered in the day. This dial has the recessed center chapter with the Hamilton logo in the antique script font. Then we have the raised outer circumference for the Hamilton stylized Arabic font numerals and again with each Arabic minute maker and the 5-minute makers highlighted in red Arabic numerals. We also have a recessed sub-chapter for the second hand. These ornate dials were made using 3 copper plates soldered together then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial that deep rich porcelain finish. These dials were relatively fragile, and this has a very minor craze line I have to mention. This fine dial is in excellent condition and is highlighted with the original Spade Railroad Hands. This fine Hamilton Pocket Watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.

This Hamilton Grade 992 Movement is in excellent condition. This Grade 992 Model 2 was first introduced in 1913 with the Bar Damasking pattern and the lettering highlighted in gold. This Grade 992 was manufactured to the highest of standards and we have and excellent example without reckless jeweler’s tool marks or corrosion. This Hamilton 992 Movement is lever set and stem wound with 21 fine Ruby and Sapphire Pallet Jewels and is adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. This ¾ Plate Nickle Silver Movement also has gold balance weights, high grade Reed Regulator, Breguet Hairspring with flush and raised gold jewel settings. This fine movement also has a gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement all designed for exceptional accuracy. This finest of Railroad Pocket Watches has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper as designed.

This is another excellent example of the late 19th and early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.

This Hamilton Pocket Watch has just been serviced. The service entails a complete disassembly all parts cleaned in an ultra-sonic bath and then reassembled using the finest watch oil and gear grease and then adjusted for accuracy.
