Ball helped establish for railroad timekeeping after the turn of the century.

The dial is a beautiful Montgomery dial, prized by collectors and railroad men alike for its bold, heavily inked Arabic numerals and minute markings around the outer track, the kind of at-a-glance legibility a true railroad-grade timepiece was required to provide.
