Extra Fine Illinois Pocket Watch 21 Jewel Railroad Grade Sangamo Special Housed in a 10K Rose Gold Fill Crescent Case circa 1915
Folks we are please to offer for your consideration this truly rare high grade 21 Jewel Illinois Sangamo Special circa 1915; the classic lever set Railroad Pocket Watch. The Sangamo Special was produced in limited numbers with only 12,660 in total. First produced in 1913 and the last production year was 1923 keeping demand high for this extra fine movement. This Sangamo is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter, the most popular of sizes. This fine Sangamo Special Movement is housed in this beautiful triple hinged 10K Rose GF Crescent Case Company case. These antique triple-hinged cases are highly desired and now uncommon, the third hinge is for the dust cover over the movement. This fine Sangamo Special has one of the most desired configurations with this rare Sangamo Special Movement, beautiful Illinois Montgomery Double Sunk Railroad Dial and Blued Steel Spade/Whip Hands. I so hope the many pictures and extreme magnification help tell the story of this truly exceptional Illinois Pocket Watch. This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping. All Antique and Vintage Pocket Watches are cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy and warranted for 1 full year from date of purchase.
