Elgin Railroad Grade
Elgin B.W. Raymond Railroad Grade 571 Housed in Popular Style 3055 Streamline Case
This Elgin Grade 571, produced in 1953, is one of the Elgin Watch Company's most popular railroad grade pocket watches. It rivaled the famous Hamilton Grade 992 in popularity and production numbers with 563,000 of the Elgin Grade 571 produced. The dial, movement, and hands are in excellent condition, while the case shows the normal amount of wear one would expect for a pocket watch that saw use on the railways of America during the mid 20th century. During its years in service on the railways, this watch was well maintained and treated with respectful care by its previous users. While the Grade 571 movement is exciting, this watch also features a popular B.W. Raymond dial with the name printed on the dial, a rather uncommon feature. This fantastic dial is a Boxcar style Montogomery safety dial also quite popular among collectors today, and it is highlighted with exquisite blue steel hands. It is a fine vintage timepiece for daily wear or an outstanding railroad-grade watch to display in your collection or as a start to a family heirloom tradition.
