Ball Hamilton 23 Jewel 999N Housed in Popular Ball Patented Stirrup Bow Case
This Ball Hamilton Grade 999N Model 1 was manufactured in 1913 – 1914—an era of innovation and turmoil as airplanes and automobiles were in their infancy, and the First World War began. This watch is in a class of its own as an extremely rare vintage pocket watch. For many collectors, obtaining a Ball branded pocket watch might be your holy grail. The Ball Hamilton watches are considered to be one finest railroad-grade pocket watches ever manufactured and the most collected of all time. The watch presented here includes the 23 jewel 999N movement, complete with a stunning circular damaskeen pattern, housed in a Ball Official Standard gold fill size 16 case by J. Boss Keystone. The case features beautiful engravings around the circumference of the dial and floral engravings with a blank cartouch on the case back. The single sunk dial is a flawless example of the Ball Official RR Standard Dial, featuring crisp, clean Arabic numerals with heavy ink saturation and highlighted with exquisite Black Spade railroad standard hands. This specimen is highly collectible because it is a triple signed Ball Hamilton marked with the official Ball logo on the movement, dial, and case. All the materials used in the manufacture of this watch were of the finest grade available and used in designs by the legendary Webb C. Ball. It is a significant part of history and great horological value. To own this watch is to own a part of the legendary legacy of Webb C. Ball and the companies that partnered with him, to make our rail system safer than before. Only a small number of this watch model and configuration have survived in such excellent condition, and an opportunity to own one is rarer than with many other watches. It shows beautifully for daily wear or to display proudly as a cornerstone of your watch collection.
