We are pleased to offer for your consideration this pristine Hamilton Gentlemen’s Pocket Watch of the day. This beautiful Hamilton Pocket Watch is a Grade 974 with a pristine17-jewel stem set and stem wound movement. The Grade 974 is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter the most popular of sizes. The 974 with the lever set function is known as the Electric Railway Special or Interurban Model, so we have the same high-grade movement without having to remove the bezel to pull the lever to set time. This Hamilton Pocket Watch with the stem set function was considered the Gentelmen’s Dress version of the Hamilton 974 Pocket Watch. This extra fine movement is housed in a beautifully engraved yellow gold fill Art Deco motif case manufactured by the B&B Royal Case Company. This classic configuration with this fine movement, case, hands and dial makes for this truly classic Hamilton Pocket Watch. I so hope the many pictures and extreme magnification helps tell the story of this extra fine Hamilton Pocket Watch.

This Hamilton Dress Dial is in excellent condition without flaws and is referred to as single sunk dial. We have the Hamilton logo in the center with the Arabic Breguet style numeral font and the classic railroad track design around the outer circumference. Then the dial has a recessed or sunken sub-register for the second hand. This dial is made of many layers of baked silica on two metal plates; this gives the dial that rich glass porcelain finish. Then we have the original beautifully blued steel spade / whip hands. This Hamilton Pocket Watch Grade 974 is again all-original and shows beautifully ready for daily wear or as a wonderful addition to any collection.

This pristine Hamilton Model 974 Movement has beautifully damasked nickel plates without reckless jewelers tool marks or corrosion. This 17 jewels movement is stem set and stem wound and adjusted to 3 positions. This fine timepiece also has a high-grade micro regulator, double roller, gold balance weights, solid gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement. This Hamilton Pocket Watch Model 974 is again a size 16 and measuring 2 inches diameter the most popular of sizes. This fine Hamilton Grade 974 has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper.

This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
