We are pleased to offer for your consideration this antique Illinois Bunn Special Pocket Watch circa 1923. This Illinois Bunn Special was the top of the line Railroad Pocket Watch of the day and manufactured to the highest of standards. This 21 Jewel Bunn Special is a size 18 measuring 2 ¼ inches in diameter; the classic antique Railroad Grade Pocket Watch. This Grade Bunn was manufactured from 1893 through 1923, an extremely popular high-grade movement. This Illinois Bunn Special is referred to as a full plate movement and is in pristine condition without reckless jewelers tool marks or corrosion. This pristine Bunn Special Movement is in pristine condition and keeping “railroad time” as designed. This fine Bunn has 21 Ruby jewels and is lever set and stem wound. Then we have a double roller, reed regulator, high-grade Micrometer Regulator, and Gold balance weights, raised Gold jewel cup settings with a Gold center wheel and train all designed for extreme accuracy. This was truly the scientific instrument of the day, on par with the smartphone of today. This high grade movement is housed in this desired International Watch Case Company Case, with the popular train engraved case. This classic Illinois Pocket Watch has just been serviced and ready for daily carry or as an excellent addition to any collection.

This Bunn Special is faced with this pristine Illinois double sunk railroad dial. We have the raised outer circumference with the bold Illinois Arabic numerals and every 5-minute marker highlighted in red. Then we have the recessed center chapter for the Illinois with a recessed subchapter for the second hand. These ornate dials were made using 3 Copper Plates soldered together, and then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial the deep rich porcelain finish. This dial is in excellent condition without issues and showing clean, bright and gorgeous! This beautiful dial is highlighted with the original blued Steel spade whip railroad hands. This timepiece shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come. 

This is an excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for beauty and accuracy in timekeeping.

This Antique Pocket Watch has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy. This entails a complete disassembly with all parts cleaned and reassembled using the finest watch oil and gear grease.
