We are pleased to offer for your consideration this rare antique Hampden Special Railway Pocket Watch circa 1907. The Hampden Watch Company opened in 1877 and operated through 1930. This wonderful 108-year-old Railroad Grade Pocket Watch is lever set and stem wound and is a size 18 measuring 2 ¼ inches in diameter. This was Hampden's offering in the very completive utility pocket watch market at the turn of the century. The Special Railway is a two-tone movement in an attempt to manufacture not only an accurate movement but also a beautiful timepiece at the as well. This Hampden Special Railway Pocket Watch is truly the classic antique Railroad Grade Pocket Watch housed is a Supreme Watch Case Company case. I so hope the many pictures and extreme magnification helps in the description of this fine Hampden Railroad Grade Pocket Watch. This is another excellent example of the late 19th Century early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
