This dress dial does have heavy patina and I think it gives the pocket watch real character. The hands are blued steel and show beautifully against the White Gold Fill case and the patina on the dial. The Elgin Dress Pocket Watch Grade 345 is a wonderful configuration with the Elgin Grade 345 Movement, heavy and evenly patina dial, blued steel hands and housed in this beautifully engraved Wadsworth Gold Fill Case. This all-original Elgin Pocket Watch is truly a unique find, the Rat Rod of Pocket Watches so to speak.
