This pristine Elgin is a Grade 315 with a 15 Jewel Movement and housed in a beautiful Philadelphia Case Company 14K Gold Fill Case, then faced with a flawless porcelain Elgin Dial.
This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for beauty and accuracy in timekeeping.

Folks we are pleased to be offering for your consideration this Antique Elgin Pocket Watch size 12 measuring 1¾ inches in diameter. This Gentlemen’s Dress Pocket Watch of the day was a symbol of status and prestige and manufactured to the highest of standards. This pristine Elgin is a Grade 315 with a 15 Jewel Movement and housed in a beautiful Philadelphia Case Company 14K Gold Fill Case, then faced with a flawless porcelain Elgin Dial. This is where I so hope the many pictures and extreme magnification help tell the story of this fine Elgin Gentlemen’s Dress Pocket Watch of the day.
This Elgin Dial is in pristine condition with the Elgin stylized Arabic font numerals, this beautifully stylized dial is referred as a single sunk dial. We have the main portion of the dial with the Elgin logo in the center and the Elgin Arabic numerals around the outer circumference with every 5-minute marker highlighted in red Arabic numerals. Then we have the sunken sub-register for the second hand. This dial is actually two pieces of metal soldered together than baked with many layers of silica giving the dial that deep rich glass porcelain finish. This dial is rare find is such pristine condition and highlighted with the original fine Blued Steel Spade / Whip Hands. This Elgin Dress Pocket Watch in is excellent condition and shows beautifully.
This fine Elgin is housed in a pristine 14K Yellow Gold Fill Philadelphia Case Company Case. This is a classic double-hinged case; the desired hinged cases were phased out by screw on bezels, easier to produce. This fine case holds this Elgin Size 12 Grade 315 Movement with beautiful antique nickel damasked plates with gold jewel settings, a gold center wheel and gold balance weights with a high-grade micro regulator all for added accuracy. The movement has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper. This fine Elgin is ready for daily wear as a wonderful addition to any collection!
