We have the classic Hamilton Pocket Watch in this pristine 992 Movement, Montgomery Dial, housed in the popular Hamilton White Gold Fill Model 5 Case. The Hamilton 992 is a size 16 and measures 2 inches in diameter, the most popular of size pocket watch. This truly fine Hamilton Pocket Watch appears to have been used on the rails and does have “Railroad Watch Inspectors” marks on the inside back cover. This fine pocket watch has been very well maintained and shows no abuse and only the most minor pocket wear on the case back. This is truly the classic Hamilton Pocket Watch that earned Hamilton the reputation as the “Railroad Timekeeper of America”. I so hope the pictures and extreme magnification help tell the story of this truly fine Hamilton Railroad Grade Pocket Watch.

This Hamilton 992 is faced with this Hamilton Montgomery Railroad Dial, one of the most ornate and desired of railroad dials. The dial is referred to as a double sunk dial, that being a recessed center chapter for the Hamilton logo. Then we have the raised outer chapter with the Hamilton Arabic font numerals, and then the outer circumference has each minute marker counted out in Arabic numerals and every 5-minute marker highlighted in red Arabic numerals, one of the most ornate, functional and collectable of all railroad dials. These dials are manufactured using 3 Copper plates soldered together, then baked with many layers of silica both before and after the numbers are applied giving the dial that deep rich porcelain, glass appearance. This Hamilton Pocket Watch is stunning, this Montgomery Dial shows beautifully against this fine White Gold Fill Hamilton #5 Case. This fine Hamilton again shows beautifully and it sure to be appreciated for generations to come.

This pristine Hamilton Grade 992 has the Pin Stripped damasking on this fine 21 Ruby Jewel Movement. This fine movement also has a double roller, safety pinion and is adjusted to 5 positions and is also adjusted to heat cold. Then we also have a high-grade micro regulator, gold balance weights, gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement, all designed to make for an incredible accurate timepiece. This fine timepiece has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper, everything you would expect from a top of the line Hamilton Railroad Pocket Watch.

This is another excellent of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
