Rare Hamilton Railroad Grade 960 Pendant Set Movement Housed in Nickel Silver Case

The craftsmanship of the Hamilton Watch Company’s railroad grade timepieces is the very thing upon which legends are built. And when it comes to railroad grade watches, Hamilton earned their place at the top of legendary railroad grade timepieces. The watchmaker drew upon the finest materials coupled with exceptional designs and meticulous crafting to produce horological treasures of unparalleled quality.

This Hamilton Grade 960 is an extremely rare example of Hamilton’s dedication to quality. It was produced in 1904 and is one of a mere 5,160 of ever produced. The rarity of this watch is further increased because Hamilton employed mixed runs producing both lever and pendant set movements for the Grade 960. Pendant set examples of the Grade 960 such as the one featured here are tough to find.

The movement itself is identical to the Hamilton Grade 950 with one notable exception—rather than 23 jewels; it was crafted using 21 jewels, still within the guidelines for a railroad grade timepiece during its day. The movement features beautifully crafted bridge plates, gold jewel settings, and a gold train further enhancing its horological value. If you’re looking for a scarce yet finely crafted timepiece by Hamilton, this is the watch for you. On display, it exudes its rarity to the discerning eye while maintaining a stunning presence enhanced by its Silverode case polished to a brilliant sheen.
