Waltham Royal – The Dress Pocket Watch of the Day Housed in Beautiful Rose Gold Fill Case
This exquisite Waltham Grade Royal Model 1888 was the pinnacle of luxury gentleman’s pocket watches of the 1890s. It was a time in American history when clothing styles and the nation were in a state of transition, and the Waltham Grade Royal kept pace with the changes.
This watch features a gorgeous porcelain dial with classic Roman numerals and railroad track design around the outer circumference and an eloquent cursive font marking this watch as a product of the American Waltham Watch Co. The extra heavy spade hands highlight the beauty of the dial giving this watch an element of gravitas.
The rose gold fill case is intricately engraved with floral and geometric patterns enriching the warmth of the rose gold luster and its luxurious presence. Despite the long life of this watch, the cartouche remains blank, still waiting for someone to engrave their initials upon it.
The Waltham Grade Royal Model 1888 featured here is from the first-year production run for this high-grade progressive movement. The movement features 15 jewels and a gilt finish. It was a groundbreaking timepiece, produced in a new size 16 rather than the size 18 of most pocket watches made before it.
All our treasured timepieces are completely disassembled, expertly cleaned, and oiled using the finest quality watch oil and gear grease and adjusted for accuracy and comes with a full one-year warranty.
