Folks we have another wonderful offering for your consideration in this antique Hamilton Railroad Grade 990 Pocket Watch circa 1911. This is a rare railroad grade 990 with a total production of only 12,799 over 10 years from 1903 through 1913. This pristine Hamilton 990 Movement has 21 jewels, double roller and is lever set and stem set, all designed for extreme accuracy. The Hamilton Model 990 is a size 16 and measures 2 inches in diameter, the most popular size pocket watch. This Grade 990 has beautiful ornate antique damasking on the nickel silver plates and is highlighted with gold lettering. This was truly the scientific instrument of the day in 1911, on par with the smartphone of today. The Hamilton 990 Movement has the beautiful, ornate antique damasking and highlighted with gold lettering, truly stunning. This Hamilton 990 Movement is in pristine condition without reckless jeweler’s tool marks or corrosion. This is truly the classic Hamilton Railroad Pocket Watch and  one of the pocket watches that earned Hamilton the reputation of being “Americas Railroad Timekeeper”. The 990 Movements are referred to as a 3⁄4 Plate Movement and is lever set and stem wound. The movement has 21 Ruby and Sapphire Pallet Fork jewels, adjusted to 5 positions and is adjusted to heat and cold. This fine movement also has a high-grade Reed regulator, Breguet Hairspring, gold balance weights and raised jewel settings with a gold center and steel escapement, all designed for extreme accuracy This fine timepiece has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper as designed.

This 990 is faced with a pristine Hamilton, Breguet single sunk railroad dial. This antique dial has the desired antique Hamilton logo with “Hamilton” still spelled out in handwritten font. This logo was later changed to “Hamilton” in a plain box font. Then we have the raised outer circumference with the Breguet style font numerals and every 5-minute marker highlighted in red. Then we have the recessed center chapter for the desired Hamilton Logo in the antique signed script. These ornate dials were made using 2 Copper Plates soldered together, and then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial the deep rich porcelain finish. This dial is in excellent condition without flaws, showing clean, bright and gorgeous! This beautiful dial is highlighted with the original custom blued Steel Breguet or Open Moon Hands. This pristine timepiece shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come. 

This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for beauty and accuracy in timekeeping.

This Antique Hamilton Pocket Watch has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy. This entails a complete disassembly with all parts cleaned and reassembled using the finest watch oil and gear grease.
