This Hamilton 992 is faced with an extra fine Montgomery Double Sunk Railroad Dial; this is one of the most popular of all railroad dials. The Montgomery Dial has every minute marker in Arabic numerals around the outer circumference with every 5-minute maker highlighted in red, ornate and the height of functionality. This Hamilton Double Sunk Dial has the recessed sunken center chapter for the Hamilton logo, and then we have the raised outer chapter for the classic Hamilton Arabic font style numerals. Then we have a recessed sub chapter for the second hand, the Montgomery Dial always has the 6 in this sub register. The Hamilton Montgomery Railroad Dial is one of the most desired and collected of all railroad dials, both beautiful and again the height of functionality. These dials are actually made using 3 pieces of Copper soldiered together then baked with many layers of silica giving the dial that deep rich porcelain, glass finish. This extra fine dial has only a minor scratch, not a factor, tough to see against the deep rich ink saturation on this fine dial. This Hamilton Dial is highlighted with the original Blued Steel Spade/Spade Railroad Hands in pristine condition. The Hamilton Grade 992 is a lever set and stem wound movement with 21 fine Ruby Jewels. This fine movement is also adjusted to 5 positions and heat and cold then we have a double roller, high-grade micro regulator, gold balance weights, gold raised and flush jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement. All designed for an incredibly accurate Railroad Grade Pocket Watch. This high grade 992 was manufactured from 1903 through 1931, with a total production of 545,900. Hamilton advertised their pocket watches as “Americas Railroad Timekeeper” and the Grade 992 kept this reputation alive with the finest of movements. This fine Hamilton is an incredibly accurate timekeeper and is ready or daily wear or as a wonderful addition to any collection.
