The Elgin Pocket Watch Grade 271 was an extremely popular model with a total production of 1,487,000 from 1904 through 1946 an extremely successful pocket watch design. This all-original Elgin Pocket Watch has the desired configuration with the Model 7 Movement, Philadelphia Case Co. Silverode Case, Porcelain Railroad Style Dial and highlighted with heat-treated beautifully blued steel hands.

The Elgin Dial is the desired porcelain giving the dial that deep rich porcelain glass like finish. The dial is the classic railroad design with the bold Arabic numerals. This dial is referred to as a Single Sunk Dial. The dial is made using two Copper plates soldered together then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial that deep rich glass appearance and depth. One plate of Copper is used for the outer circumference and another for the sunken sub chapter for the second hand. The Elgin Dial is showing one craze mark from the 2 position, this Elgin Pocket Watch still shows beautifully and is an excellent timekeeper as designed. This Elgin Pocket Watch is ready for daily wear or as a fine addition to any collection.
This Elgin Pocket Watch has a Model 7 Grade 271 Movement and is in very good condition and an excellent timekeeper as designed. This is a fine 7 Jewel 3/4 Plate Nickel finish Movement with the ornate damasking soon after to be eliminated. This reliable timekeeper also has a high-grade regulator, gold balance weights, gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train, Brequet Hairspring, stem wound and stem set with a quick train steel escapement. This fine Elgin Pocket Watch has just been serviced and is again an excellent timekeeper as designed.
